The four motifs of this coaster set have been created from the woodblock print “The great Wave of Kanagawa”, by Katsushika Hokusai (1760-1849). One of Japan’s most famous artists, Hokusai produced more than 30,000 works. “The Great Wave of Kanagawa” which inspired this product is considered the world’s most famous Japanese woodblock print, having influenced great creations such as the painting of Claude Monet, the music of Claude Debussy and the literature of Rainer Maria Rilke.
