The colorful pattern captures scenes of Renaissance life, applied to porcelain pieces in the pinched Ariana shape first introduced in 1904 as part of the wave of Art Nouveau across Europe. Founded by Duke Carl I. of Brunswick-Wolfenbuettel in 1717, Furstenberg still produces porcelain insitu today.
