Nicknamed the “horseman” artist, Jean-Louis Sauvat is an admirable drawer and sculptor of horses. A keen rider when not teaching Fine Arts, he has produced a large number of monumental works. In collaboration with Daum, Jean-Louis Sauvat presents a series around the theme of the horse—his personal predilection. This work reveals the fine modeling of the raw material, exhibiting the force and untamed character of the wild horse.
Each Daum crystal piece is made using the rare and ancient “Pâte de Verre” glassmaking technique, which dates back to 5,000 BC and involves melting many fragments of colored crystal within a mold. This results in intense colors and subtle shading. Handmade in France. Limited edition of 275.
